The aim of this study is to identify the causes of middle-aged women’s reluctance to sport activities with an emphasis on biological and psychological characteristics. The Statistical population in this study was all middle-aged ladies in Tehran who do not participate in regular exercise programs. The method of this study was correlational and the aim of this study was practical and it was a survey done through field study. In this study, a research Self-made questionnaire was used that According to the theoretical foundations and similar studies and with opinion of consultation and the supervisor and a number of specialists and managers of sport for this study was designed. The questionnaire consisted of Personal Information and main questions. Main question include 16 questions, three questions relating to biological factors, three questions related to women's reluctance and 10 questions related to psychological factors. In order to analyze the data, descriptive and inferential statistics were used. Descriptive statistics such as average, minimum, maximum, frequency, percentage and standard deviation were used to describe the variables in the population. Due to the significance level were used of spearman test and for testing the research hypothesis, significance level p≤0.05 were used. Each of the hypotheses were tested using SPSS software version 19. The results of this study showed that between biological and psychological characteristics of middle-aged lady's reluctance to sport activities was a significant and direct relationship.
